Effects of Foliar Choline Chloride Application on the Growth and Physiological Traits of Maize Seedlingsunder Salt Stress

Abstract:Soil salinization has becomeoneof the most challngingenvironmental issues worldwide.Improvingcropsalt toleranceiscrucialforutilizingsalinesoilresources.Asalowtoxicityandhighlyfectiveplantgrowthregulato,chlinechloide canffectivelyallviatesaltsressinplants.Maize,asanimporantfoodandforagecop,faces numerouschallnges wengroingin saline soils.Thisstudysystematically investigates the regulatory effects of foliar applied choline chloride on the maize seedling growthundersaltstresstroughintegratedphysiologicalmeasurementsandmolecularbiologyapproaches.Theresultsdemonstrate thatcholinechdealcationundersaltstrsssignificantlyinreassotlngtheanesclorophllontent,improesogn uptakecapacitypromotesosmoregulatorysubstance(solubleprotein)accumulation,educesmalondialdehydecontent,andleates antioxidantenzymeactivities(SOD,CAT),therebyaleviatingsaltstressdamage throughmultiplepathways.Thisstudyprovides theoreticalandtechnicalsupportformaizeproductionisalinesoilsndofersreferencesforehancingsedingstresrsistance and cultivating vigorous maize seedlings.
