Abstract： Asa key distribution areaof local maize germplasm resources in Gansu Province，Longnan has preserved local maize varieties withuniquegeneticdiversityHowever，overthepast1Oyears，somevarieties haveundergonegeneticdriftorhave beenlost，andlocalmaizevarietiesarenowfacingasevereconservationcrisis.Toensurethehigqualitydevelopmentofthemaize industryinGansuProvinceandthesustainabledevelopmentofdrylandagricultureinNorthwestChina，targetedresearchonthe conservationofLongnanlocalmaizegermplasmresourcesisimperative.Thispaperreviewsthedistributionandcharacteristicsof Longnanlocalmaizevarieties，theevolutionofplanting layout incommercialmaizevarieties，thecurrentstatusoflocalvariety cultivation，andthepresevationandutilzationoflocalmaizegermplasminLongnanSuggestionsareproposedforstablishinga multi-levelconservationsystem，developingregionalladaptivegeplasm，ptiizingtraditional preservationsystemsinLogan， andinovatinggermplasmresourcesharing mechanisms topromotetheconservationandsustainableutilizationof localmaize germplasm resources in Longnan.
