Effects of Foliar Application of Organic Selenium Bio-fertilizer on the Yield and Selenium Accumulation in Spring Maize on the Dryland Areas of Loess Plateau in Eastern Gansu

Abstract:Toinvestigate theefectsoffoliarapplicationoforganicseleniumbio-fertilizeronyieldandselenumaccumulation inspringmaizeontheDrylandofLoessPlateauineasternGansu,andtoprovideareferenceforselenumenrichedmaizeproductionn thisregion,afieldexperiment wasconductedusingthemaizevarietyXianyu1483.Fourapplicationrates oforganicseleniumbio fertlizer(120,2406O,72Okga)wereetastreamentsResutssowdtatflarapplicatioofgancseleumbitlir significantlyectedmaizeiomassyeldhiletegainieldasntsigficantlyifuenedTeghstmaizeyieldwaseeat 240kg/ha,with biomass and grain yieldsincreased by 17.68% and 5.55% ,respectively,compared to the water-sprayed control. Seleniumcontentinbothgrainandstrawincreasedsignificantlywithhigherferilizerapplication,reachngO.28to1.49and5.86to 22.31timescompardtotecontrollevels,espectively.Inconclusion,foliaraplcationofrganicselenmbifertilierpomotes biomassyieldandselenumenrichmentingranandstraofspring maizeonthedrylandofLoessPlateau,withthebestefectbserved at 240kg/ha
