Dongguan Botanical Garden has protecteda total of 51 rare plants from30 families in Dongguan.In the process of constructing specialized botanical gardens，we explored the integration of rare native plants from Dongguan，expanding their application scope，and achieving both protection and application.There are eight specialized gardens with rare plants，including the Orchid Garden， Herb Garden，Plant Evolution Popular Science Garden， Rock Garden，Shade Plants Garden，Famous Treesand Flowers Garden，Camellia Garden， andAquilaria Garden.There area total of37 rare plants used inspecified plant gardens with herbaceous plants being the most numerous，accounting for 23 species; next are trees，with 11 species.Rare plants in Dongguan with high ornamental value and application prospects mainly include Arundina graminifolia，Viburnum hanceanum，Rhodoleiachampionii.Taking Orchid Garden，Rock Garden，Shade Plants Botanical Garden，and Herb Gardenas examples， thisarticle focuses on introducing the cultivationand application techniques of rare native plants from Dongguan indemonstrationspecialized gardens from theaspectsof habitat creation，plant configuration，cultivation management，and growth performance.Based on thecurrent situation，it is recommended to address the existing issues by strengthening the introduction and conservation of rare plants，improving breeding techniques and application methods，increasing efforts indeveloping natural education courses.
