Climatewarming has led to thecontinuous intensificationof variousdelayedadverse impacts.Adapting to climate change and optimizing the spatial layout of green space systemsare key methods formitigating theurban heat island effect.Using Landsat8 remote sensing imagery to derive surface temperatureasaquantitative data source,this study evaluated the cooling effect of waterfront green spaces in Haikou City and quantitatively analyzed the relationship between green space design elements and cooling benefits. Results indicate that the ratio of green space edge area is negatively correlated with cooling benefits,whereas other spatial elements show positive correlations.The critical distance forseawater interferenceaffecting Haikou's cooling benefits isapproximately 2300m Finally,comprehensive optimization strategies for mitigating urban thermal environments areproposed,includingestablishinga'point-line-surface'network layoutforgreen spaces.
