Applying Rodgers evolutionary concept analysis to define self⁃management of patients with knee osteoarthritis

Abstract  Objective：To analyze and elaborate the concept and connotation of self⁃management of patients with knee osteoarthritis.Methods：Relevant literatures were retrieved from databases such as CNKI，WanFang Database，VIP Database，Web of Science，PubMed，CINAHL.The retrieval time was from the establishment of the database to February 29，2024.The Rodgers evolutionary concept analysis method was applied to analyze the included literature.Results：The self⁃management of patients with knee osteoarthritis included four conceptual attributes：disease cognition，self⁃efficacy，behavioral management，and symptom monitoring.The prerequisites involve disease⁃related factors，demographic characteristics，social factors，and psychological factors.Conclusions：The conceptual attributes of self⁃management of patients with knee osteoarthritis were clarified through conceptual analysis.In the future，nurses could understand the concept of knee osteoarthritis patients' self⁃management，and build a set of knee osteoarthritis self-management system in line with China's national conditions，so as to improve the quality of life of knee osteoarthritis patients.
