AbstractThis paperreviews thecurrntstatusofrareearthrecovery technologiesfrom wasterareearthphosphors,systematicaly comparingthedvantagesanddisadantagesofdirectrecoverprocesses(suchasflotation,windseparation,centrifugalepation magneticseparation,andmechanicalactivation)andindirectrecoveryproceses(suchasacidleachingandalkalifusionethods). Studiesindicatethat:thepowdersobtainedfromdirectrecoveryproceses havelowpurityandcanhardlymeetproduction requirements;indirectrecoveryprocessscansignificantlyincreasethetotalrareearthrecoveryate.Amongthem,alkalifusion pretreatment process greatly enhances the leaching rates of cerium(Ce) and terbium (Tb) to over 90 % by destroying the stable aluminatestructureofgreenandbluephosphors,butitalsopresentsisuessuchastheoxidationofvariablevalenceelementsandthe introductionofimpuriesfromironpowder.Basedontechnicalanalysis,thedevelopmenttrendsfortheresourceutiliztonofwaste rare earth phosphors are prospected, providing a reference for green and efficient recovery.
