Abstract: Confronted with thechallenges posed by thesmall fault blocks,deep reservoir burial depths, and intricate geological conditions of the BZ19-6 block in the Bohai Oilfield,traditional welltypes suffer from low exposure ratios in reservoir sections and incur high well construction costs in non-reservoir sections.To tackle these difficulties,this study explored and implemented the open-hole sidetracking multilateral well technology.Given that suspended sidetracking demands high drillability of formations, and the open-hole cement backfill sidetracking method cannot fulfill the production needs of the main wellbore,an innovative approach utilizing whipstock technology for open -hole sidetracking in hard formations was introduced.This technology effectively resolved pivotal issues,including production connectivity between the main and branch wellbores,anchoring and suspension of open-hole wells,and the optimal selection of sidetracking locations and anchoring points.Through field application and operational validation,this technology has notonly demonstrated itsfeasibility but also significantly boosted oil and gas production,offering valuable technical guidance and a fresh practical approach for oil and gas field development in similar geological settings.
