Abstract:To address the failure problemof drill collar thread jointsunder bending loads,the influence of thebending strength ratio of themale and female threadsand the stress relief groove on the bending stress was studied by combining finite element simulation and experimental testing. The research results show that,compared with the structure without a stress relief groove and a bending strength ratio of1.73,the structure with a stress relief groove and a bending strength ratio of 2.15 reduces the stress at the drill collar joint by 56.18% . Increasing the outer diameterof the female thread of the drill collar is more efective in improving the stress than increasing the inner diameter of the male thread flow channel,and the stress relief groove can also efectively improve the stress at the thread joint. The research results provide theoretical basis and technical support for the strength analysis and optimization design of drill collar joints under bending loads.
