Abstract： Since theMinistryofEducation putforward“1+X"policy，Vocational English Test System （i.e.VETS） has been the only authorized vocational ability testing criterion ofEnglish category.As Chinese winter sports keeps increasingrapidly，itsvaliditywithinthisareaistobeexamined.Byrevealtheorientationandfunctionof VETS throughthe general review of currentdomestic winter sports industryand required abilitiesof practitioners，VETs’ originally developingconcept，itsindustrialperformanceand popularized situation，soas toshed lightonto its validity withinthe fieldof winter sports byinvestigating its vocational pilotoperation，industrialand marketeport and the applicabilityinoccupational circumstance.Based on therational surveyofVETSapplication，its failure in occupationalassstance and self-construction system stands out，together with the lack of entityresponsibility of winter sports industry，and its dissatisfactory fulfilment in vocational education.The practical suggestions on its systematic reform are give accordingly， including normalizing the pilot practices，guaranteeing the conduction expenditure，coordinatingall principal majors，improving assessing standardand criteria，enhancing faculties’

competence and effectively promotingvocational Englishcurriculumreform.ThroughVETSsystematic reform，the efficiencyof“certificateplusdiploma” conduction isto be elevated，the nourishmentof service-orientedwinter sportsmajorswith international vision and intercultural abilityisto be guaranteed， hence the internalization of Chinese winter sports is to

be facilitated hopefully.
