Abstract:Glycosylation,asanimportantpost-translational modificationof proteins,regulatesneuronal excitability, cardiacelectrophysiology,andotherproceses byinfluencing the structure,function,and membranelocalizationof voltage-gated potassium channels ( Kv ).In recent years,studies have found that the addition or loss of specific glycans (such asN-glycans and O-glycans)can significantlyalter the membrane localization,protein stability,gating properties, anddrugsensitivityofKvchannels.Moreover,thecorrlationbetweenabnormal glycosylationlevelsofKvchannelsand diseases,such asarhythmia,cancer,andneurological disease,has been increasinglyrevealed.This review summarizes the maintypesof glycosylationand the impactof glycosylationonthe functionof Kvchannels,andalso explores he relationship between glycosylation of Kv channels and related diseases,aiming to provide new insights for the research and treatment of related diseases.
