Abstract:The lysyl oxidase (LOX)familycomprises secreted copper-dependent amine oxidases that plays a crucial role infacilitatingthecovalencross-lnkingofcollgenandelastin,therebypromotingtheformationofacross-linkingnetwork withinthe extracelular matrix(ECM)and maintaining its normal structure and function.Studies have suggested thatthe proteins belonging to the LOX familyare involved in shaping the tumor microenvironment prior to metastasis through various signaling pathways,exerting eitherpromoting orinhibiting effectsontheproliferation,invasion,andmigrationof tumor cells,which underscores their significantrole in theonsetand progression of various tumors.This makes the LOX familyapotentialtargetfor tumor diagnosisand treatment.Thisarticleaims toreviewthe expressonand underlying mechanismsoftheLOX familyintumors,enhancing ourunderstandingof thecomplexrolesoftheLOXfamilyin tumor progression and providing a reference for tumor monitoring and treatment.
