【Abstract】ObjectiveTo investigate the mental health statusand its influencing factors among students enroled in new engineering disciplines at theuniversity level.MethodsA stratified randomsampling approach was used to select 998 students from a new engineering university in Beijing.Participants were assessed using the Symptom Checklist-9O（SCL-90）.Multivariate logisticregressionanalysiswas employed to identify significant influencing factors.ResultsAmong the collge students surveyed，29.6%（295/998）exhibited mental health problemsat varying severitylevels.Logisticregressonanalysis revealedasetof significant riskand protective factors asociated with mental health status.The logistic regression analysis showed thatclose relatives with mental illness [OR=2.03，95%CI（1.078，.835）]，havingsufferedfrommajorphysicalillnesses[OR=2.606，95%C（1.559， 4.355）]，andexperiencingmajorstress events[OR=1.920，95%CI（1.139，3.238）]wereriskfactors forstudents' mental health，whileharmoniousparentalrelationships[OR=0.504，95%CI（O.363，0.698）]，satisfactionwiththeir major[OR=0.582，95%C（0.411，0.823）]，clearpositioning forthe future [OR=0.536，95%C（0.388，0.740）]，and attention to mental health[OR=0.653，95%CI（0.468，0.911）] wereprotective factors forstudents'mental health. ConclusionThe targeted mental health education programs shouldbe developed based on each student's specific psychological profilesand influencing factors.The mental healthof studentscanbe jointly maintained by building positive campuscultural environment，fostering supportive and friendlycollectiveatmosphere，and strengthening school-family collaboration.
