【Abstract】Objective In order to investigate the relationship between parental conflict and depression inmiddleschool students,as well as theunderlying mechanisms of cognitive fusionand schoolconnectedness inthis context.MethodsAtotalof1O46 middleschool students weresurveyed bythe Children'sPerceptionof InterparentalConflictScale(CPIC),CognitiveFusion Scale(CFS),School Connectedness Scale (SCS),andCeterfor Epidemiological Survey-depression Scale (CES-D).Results ① Parental conflict was a significant positive predictor of depression in middle school students( β=0.48 P<0.001 ) ② Cognitive fusion partially mediated the relationship between parental conflict and depression in middle school students( β=0.20 , P<0.001 ); ③ School connectedness moderated both thedirectpathwayand the second halfofthe pathwayof therelationship betweenparental conflict and depression in middleschool students.ConclusionParental conflictcanaffectdepression directlyorindirectly through cognitive fusion;School connectednessmoderated the relationship between parental conflictanddepression as well as the relationship between cognitive fusionand depression in middle school students.
