【Abstract】Objective To analyze the school adaptation among university freshmen in Jiangsu Province and its influencing factors,providing empirical support for formulating interventionpolicies to enhance the adaptation level of university freshmen.MethodsA cluster randomsampling method was used to recruit 2057 undergraduatefreshmen fromfiveuniversitiesinSuzhou,Taizhou,andHuai'ancitiesofJiangsuProvincebetween November and December 2O23.Questionnaires were conducted using the Self-Control Scale (SCS),the Coping Style Scale (SCSQ),theColege Student Adaptation Scale (CCSAS),and the LifeOrientation Test-Revised (LOT-R). Independent sample t -testsand one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used to compare the scores of various variablesacross diferent demographic characteristics.Pearson correlationanalysis and multiple linearregression analysis were employed to examine the corelationsbetween variables.ResultsMultiple regression analysis showed thatself-control,positivecoping styles,andoptimism wereallpositivelycorrelated with theschooladaptationof freshmen ( β =0.212-0.444, P<0.001 ),while the place of origin was negatively correlated with theschool adaptation of freshmen ( β=-0.033 P =0.018).Conclusion The school adjustment of college freshmen in Jiangsu Province is influencedby multiplefactors.Among these,self-controlability,positivecoping style,andoptimismaresignificant predictors of adjustment levels.
