Abstract：This article introduces Professor LI Shunmin's clinical experience in treating chronic renal failure. ProfessorLIbelieves thatthefundamental pathogenesisofchronicrenal failureis the deficiencyof thespleenand kidney，complicated with the interlocking of dampness，turbidity，stasis，and toxins.The spleenand kidney deficiencyruns throughout the disease course.Therefore，basedonthe theory of spleen-kidney correlation and combined with microscopicsyndrome differentiation，he developed the Jianpi Yishen Prescription to treatchronic renal failure.In clinical practice，he emphasizes the principle of "two supplementsand five unblocks." The "two supplements" refer tothe primary treatment methodsof tonifying the spleen and kidneys.The "fiveunblocks" include promoting bowel movements，urination，sweating，smooth breathing，and blood circulation.
