ABSTRACT:To investigate the gene structure and predict thebiological functionof the pigeon endoplasmic reticulum-associated,interferon-inducibleantiviralprotein(Viperin),nestPCR was used to obtainthe pigeon Viperin coding sequence(CDS)in this study.The sequence characteristics,structural domains,phylogenetic relationships,and potential functions were analyzed by bioinformatics methods.The results indicated that the pigeon Viperin CDS spanned 1077bp , encodinga358amino-acid proteinclasifiedasunstable.The Viperinlackedasignalpeptide,exhibited higherhydrophilicityin thecentral region,and potentiallycontainedaN-terminal transmembrane domain.Secondarystructure analysis of Viperin revealed a composition of 33% (204号 α -helices and 13% (204 β -sheets. Tertiary structural modeling of Viperin further demonstrated a conserved barrel-shaped architecture characterized by α -helices enveloping β sheets. Multisequence alignment analysis of Viperin indicated high conservationacross species,except in theN-terminal region.Protein interaction network analysis of Viperin identified functional asociations with keyimmune regulators,including CMPK2,IRF1,and TRAF6. Collctively,these results willprovide a theoretical basis for functional studies of pigeon Viperin.
