Abstract Yak is aunique animal species in China，widely distributed in regions such as Qinghai Province， Xizang Autonomous Region， Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and Gansu Province.The main breeding mode is a combinationof grazingand pen breeding.Due tothefact that thebreeding areas are generallyinaharsh environmentof highaltitude，coldand oxygen deficiency，yak diarrhea occurs frequently.Thereare manycauses of yak diarrhea， mainly ncluding pathogenicfactorssuchasbacteria，virusesand parasites，etc.Inaddition，itisalsorelatedtofeeding management and environmental hygiene.Theprogress of epidemiological research on thepathogens causing yak diarhea isreviewed，withtheaimof providingareferencefortheeffectiveclinicalpreventionandcontrolofdiareal diseases in yaks.
