Abstract Viruses areaclassof pathogens thatseriouslyendangeranimaland human healthwith high infectivityand variability.Forviraldiseases，theimmune preventionisdifcultandthere isnospecificdrug.Atpresent，thesynthetic chemical antiviral drugs possess thelimited clinical eficacyand thelarger toxicityand side effectsas well as are prone to developing resistance and residue.Traditional Chinese medicine exert a comprehensive actionthrough the multiple pathways，multiple targets and multiple links，with low toxicity and side efects，and is not easy to produce drug resistanceand residues.Traditional Chinesemedicine has a long history in the preventionand treatment of viral diseases.In thepost-epidemicera，traditional Chinesemedicine isincreasinglyrecognized bytheworld，andthe antiviral studies on traditional Chinese medicine have ushered in a research boom.Based on the research results in recent years，the antiviral efects，active ingredientsand mechanisms of traditional Chinese medicines arereviewed in order to promote the research and development of antiviral traditional Chinese medicines.
