Chain Mechanisms of Mind-Wandering Experiences for Athletes in Snow Skill Events ： Theoretical Interpretation of Embodied Cognition

Abstract：Mind-wandering，understood as the conscious experience during which athletes generate thoughts unrelated to the current taskthroughtheinteractionoftheirbody，environmentandcognition，constitutesamodeof experiencetorealizethe aimof reasonable overlap betweenathletes’trainingand daily life，which exertsthedual influencesonathletic performance.Bythe methodsof literature reviewand interviews，throughthecoding process，thisstudy identifies thecentral theme of mind-wandering and its four aspects of driving factors，individual manifestations，cognitive evaluations and coping strategies，which togetherconstituteachain mechanismof mind-wandering experiences for athletes insnowskillevents. Notably，theembodied，contextual，andendogenousatributesofmind-wanderingexperiencesprovideexplanatorypoints consistent with theembodiedcognition theory.Guided bythe theory，this studyprovides an in-depth interpretationof the chained mechanismof mind-wandering experiences，revealing itsunified modelof horizontal experience，themultiple factors forinitial evaluations，thecontextualreferences fordierentevaluations，aswellastheidirectionalandoptional coping strategies.Itofferstheoreticalinsightsand practicalreferences forachieving thereasonableoverlapbetweenathletes training anddailylife，and continuously enhancing psychologicalconditionand sports performanceof Chineseathletes in snow skill events at the Winter Olympics level.
