Abstract：Theconstructionof scienceand technology journals is closely relatedto the development status and prospect ofrelated industries.Since China has entered anewstage of development，the significance ofthetimes forengineering technology journalsis givenbythenewpolicydeploymentanddevelopment planingoftheironand steel industry.It is one of thenew missions for engineering technology journalsto helpcultivateNew QualityProductivityand promote the high-qualitydevelopmentof the industry.Takethe Chinese journal of steeland metalurgyas example，thepath of engineering jounals topromotethedevelopmentofNewQualityProductivityintraditional industrywas explored，based on the function analysis of transformation and upgrading of traditional industries，scienceand technology innovation， andtalent culture byengineering technology journals.Atthesame time，the importanceof stimulatingown New Quality Productivityandrealizingself-improvementofengineering journals was emphasized.The feasiblemethods for the highlevel constructionof journals were also proposed，to provide referenceforthedevelopment of iron and steel metalurgy science and technology journalsand enhance their status inthe national science and technology innovation system.
