Abstract:Inorder tomeetthelow-costand high-efciencyrequirementsof lightweight,smallbatch,and largesized structural component manufacturing in the commercialvehicleindustry,andovercome the mold limitationsof traditionalmanufacturing processes,this paper innovatively explores thefeasibilityof Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM)inthecommercial vehicle industry.From4aspects:numerical modelingprocessing,additive shape controling,static performance and economiccomparisonof samples,WAAM process technology research is performed based ona lightweight aluminum aloy crossbeam of acommercial vehicle,andthe first aluminum alloy wire arc additivecrossbeamsampleinthecommercialvehicleindustryissuccessfullyprinted.Byoptimizingnumerical modeling,partitionprinting,weldingparameters,and interlayertemperaturecontrol,theresearch ensures thatthesize accuracy of the beam sample reaches ±2.5mm and there are no quality defects.Compared with traditional casting processes,WAAM's single piece trial production cost can be reduced by 59.5% ,and the efficiency of the parts can be improved by 51.7% :
