Study on Lay-up Structure of Three-layer Engineered Wood Flooring with Compression Chinese Fir Core Ply

Abstract:To solvethe poor quality problem of three-layer engineered wood flooring that is easilycaused by the natural Chinese fir core ply,this research used compression Chinese fir ascore ply,carbonized bamboo composite board as face ply.Bychanging factors suchas the thickness and moisturecontent of the back plyandthe texture direction of the core ply,the research team analyzed the warping of specimens and confirmed the suitable lay up structure. The result ofresearch shows that the thickness and moisture content of back plyare positively correlated with the warping of width-direction after pressng.The back ply thicknes is negatively correlated with the warping of length-directionin theextreme environment.Whenthe inner sideof thecoreplyison the same sideof the back ply,the warping of width-direction in each test is smaller.The optimum structure was chosen,in which back plythickness is 0.8mm ,moisture content is 3.5% ,core ply adopt the side of internal face is on the same side of the back ply. In simulationuse,theflooring with compression fircore ply has beter stabilitythan thefloring with untreated fircore ply(both of them adopt the optimum structure),and the average warping degree of width-direction of the former is 46.2% of the latter. The average value of MOR and MOE are 66.6MPa and 7440MPa respectively,and it reached 2.22 times and 1.86 times of the minimum value required by the standard respectively.
