Design and Dynamic Simulation of a Rolling Snow Brush-Based Snow Removal Device for Forest Photovoltaic Panels

Abstract:With the increasing adoptionof photovoltaic technology in forest areas,winter snow accumulation signifi cantlyreduces the eficiencyof photovoltaic panels inthese setings.To address this issue,this paper presents arolling snow brush-based snow removal device and systematically analyzes its material selection,structural design,and snow removal eficiency.Nylon 66 was chosen for the brush fibers to ensure optimal performance in low-temperature environments while protecting the panel surface,and the brush structure was acordingly designed.Furthermore, after calculating the van der Waals forces,ice bridge forces,and mechanical interlocking forces between snow particles and the panel,dynamic simulations using ANSYS were performed to analyze the mechanical response and equivalent stress distributionof both singleand multiple brush fibers during the snow removal process.The simulation results indicate that therolling snow brush provides suficient cleaning force to overcome theadhesion of snow,confirming the feasibilityand effctiveness of the design foriceremoval from forest photovoltaic panels.This study provides a theoretical foundation for optimizing snow removal systems for photovoltaic panels in forest areas.
