Design and Optimization of Recirculation Separation Devices for Walnut Shell and Kernel

Abstract:In order to solvethe problem of high kernal lossrate caused by using an equal-section cavity for wind selection in walnut shelland kernel separation equipment,inthis study,thecavity structurewith alow-velocity zone was designed,so that the material in thecavitycould be selected many times during the movement process under the action of air flow,and thenthe kernal lossrate was reduced. Observing the test phenomenon shows that with the increase inthe diameter widthof thecavity,the comprehensive airseparation rate of the shelland kernel separation equipment increases first and then decreases.With the increase in fan frequency,the comprehensive clearance rate showedatrendoffirst increasing and then decreasing.According to theresultsof thecentral compositetest,theresponse surface optimization was completed using Design-Expert 13,and the prediction model of comprehensive cleaning rate was obtained.The optimal parameters of the shelland kernel separation equipment with cyclic air selection were: the frequency of the fan was 46.31Hz ,the direction of the air inlet was 84.96∘ ,and the width of the variable diameter section was 95.22mm :
