Abstract:Forest fires cause serious harm to the ecological environment,economyand society,making fire spread prediction and3Dvisualization crucial.This paper proposes a 3D visualization method for forest fire spread based on Unreal Engine (UE4),aiming to enhance the visualization offire spread prediction.Firstly,a virtual forest environment is constructed by generating a Digital Elevation Model(DEM)from UAVLiDAR point clouddata,followed by vegetation modeling using SpeedTree,and finally creating the virtual forest scene using Houdini procedural scene generation technology.For firebehavior rendering,the Niagara particle system in UE4 is used to simulate the dynamic changesofflames,while theFARSITE fire spread model is integrated to update the fire spread process in real time.Theresults show thatthe UE4-based 3D visualization method can intuitively displaythe fire spread process and provides effective technical support for forest fire prevention and decision-making.
