Simulation Study on the Optimal Displacement Ratio of the Internal Mixing Chamber of a Woodworking Polyurea Spray Gun

Abstract:To investigate the optimal structure of the interal mixing chamber of woodworking polyurea spray guns and explore the best mixing method,numerical simulations were conducted using Fluent software.Parameters such as the mixingflow field,mixing intensity,turbulence intensity,and fluid velocity in mixing chambers with diferentoffset ratios were examined. The results indicated that the mixing chamber with a 0% offset ratio achieves complete impact flow mixing,while the chamber with a 100% offset ratio operates with complete swirling flow mixing. For offset ratios at intermediate values,both impact flow mixing and swirling flow mixing occur.The mixing intensity in the 100% offset ratio chamber first achieves uniformity in the axis direction.Additionally,it features the highest fluid velocity anda more uniform turbulence intensity distribution.Therefore,when designing the mixing chamber structure of woodworking polyurea spray guns, a 100% offset ratio chamber should be selected to achieve the best mixing effect.
