Design of Control System for Walnut Kernel Sorting Device Based on PLC

Abstract:Currently,the sorting accuracy of walnut kernel color sorting equipment is low.It cannot completely separategoodandbad walnut kernels,so badwalnut kernelsarestillmixed with some goodones.In viewof this problem,a set of walnut kernel automatic sorting deviceis designed to carryout secondary sorting of walnut kernels.The device takes the appearance quality of color- sorted walnut kernels as the sorting control index and detects signals through industrial cameras and photoelectric sensors.A PLC control system and machine vision technology are used to control the whole identification and sorting processof the walnut kernel sorting device.Meanwhile,the functionof the sortingdevice is simulated and tested using Siemens HMI software.The results show that when the sorting device is usedincombination with color sorting equipment,it notonly has high sorting eficiency,but also achieves anaccuracy of more than 95% in sorting the appearance quality and size grades of walnut kernels.
