Empowering Accessibility Services in Public Libraries through the Metaverse： A Case Study of Wisdom Library in Lingang

AbstractTraditionallibrary service models are limited bythe rigidityof physical spacesand one-way service provision， which hinders special-needs groups from acessing library services.This paper takes the WisdomLibrary inLingang as a casestudy，examining howit leverages metaverse technologies toenhance accesibilityservices.Itsystematically investigatesitsservice practicesandoutcomesandexplorestheimplementationlogic： throughdigital twintechnology，the libraryreconstructs traditional physical spaces toachieve multi-sensory integrationof virtualandreal environments;an intelligent personalized service system precisely matches user needs，enabling a paradigm shift from uniform provision to diferentiated adaptation;and auser-driven virtual co-creation platform transformsspecial-needsgroupsfrompassive recipients intoactive participants inservice design.Finaly，thepaper provides insights for public libraries seeking to empower accessbility services through the metaverse：constructing precise and diversified digital twin acessibility spaces，establishingdata-drivenmultimodal intelligentadaptationsystems，and promotinguser-ledvirtual co-creation platforms.
