Research on the Optimization of Youth Reading Services in Public Libraries in China from a Child-Friendly Perspective

Abstract This paperadopts anonline research method，conducting a nationwide surveyof public library websites and on-site visits to11 public libraries in Henan Province.Itanalyzes the practical progressand research statusof youth reading services in China，focusing ontheconcrete practices of domestic libraries inthisarea.The study finds thatcurrent youth reading services in public libraries face several issues，such as the lack of specific legal frameworks for youth， insuficient service targeting，and weak connectionsbetween reading activities and society.To address these challnges， the paper proposes strengthening legal guarantees for youth reading services for ages 12-18，enriching colections and spatial resources，improving lending mechanisms，and expanding both thenumber and diversityofreading activities.
