Abstract Using SWOT analysis,this paper examines theapplication of Generative Artificial Inteligence (GenAI) in library information literacy education.The findings show that GenAIoffers advantages such as improving information processing eficiency,fostering new types ofresourcesand services,and empoweringboth the teachingand learningof information literacy.Atthesame time,itfaces weaknesses including high technical thresholds,insufficient AIliteracy among library staf,andthelimitedreliabilityof generated content.Opportunitiesarise from growing industryattention and policy support, the ongoing digital and inteligenttransformationoflibraries,and the deepengagementofdiverse stakeholders.However,threatsalsoexist,suchasethicaldilemmas inthedigitalsphere,risksoftechnologicaldominance, and the potential widening of information gaps.Based on these insights,the paper proposes SO,WO,ST,and WT strategies to guide the integrationof GenAI into library information literacyeducation,thereby accelerating libraries’ digital transformation and fostering new-quality productive forces and service capabilities.
