Abstract： The processbywhichLiu Jievolved froma historical figuretoalocal deityduringtheMingand Qing dynasties was esentiallyteresultoftecolabrativeefrtsoftheetyesoffolkelitesfamiliessholas，andlocalofialsintegional culturalsphere.Families，boundbybloodties，laidthecorefoundationof tefaithbysafeguardingtesacredspaceandmonopolzing therightosacrifice.holars，usingowledgeasatoledoedthefaithithcralootationsinewithaistreaalues throughliteratredclraliterpeatioLocalocials，uppotedbydmstratieoofeedlgitiacydtity thefaithbyincorporating itintothenationalsacrificialsystemand presidingoveroficialsacrifices.Althoughtheir motives were diferent-familissoughtfmilyprestige，holarsmedfrlocalcogitionndlocalocialssughteducatialitegatir jointeffortselevatedteLiuJifaithfromaprivatefamilyritual toaregionalculturalsymbol，profoundlyreflectingthedivisionof laborand collaboration mechanism among folk elites intheconstructionofregionalculture in thelate imperialperiod.
