Abstract:This paper examined the evolution of tea safety standards in China.Based onan analysis of notifications from the European Union's Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF)regarding Chinese tea between January 2015and September 2025,this study identifies keyrisks associated with tea exports to theEU.These risks encompass pesticide residues,heavy metals,microbial contamination,and emerging polutants such as anthraquinones, pyrolizidine alkaloids,and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. Accordingly,the study provides recommendations for nvironmental pollution control,scientific pesticide application,safe production practices,rational packaging, and the establishment and revision of relevant standards.
