Abstract:Functionalplant intercropping isapivotal techiqueforecological pest management in tea plantations,crucial for diminishing reliance onchemical pesticides and advancing green,low-carbon development withinthetea industry. This articlereviews the progressofresearchonthis technologyinChina,addressing practicalchallengessuchasreource competition between functional plantsand tea plants,significant regional adaptabilitydifferences,anda lackof standardized technicalparameters.Accordingly,itsystematicallyoutlines the selection criteria,common plant types, and application practices for intercropping with functional plants,and delves into the underlying mechanisms,focusing on volatile-mediatedbehavioral manipulationandnaturalenemyenhancement.Theoverarchinggoalis toprovidearobust theoretical foundationand practical technological guidanceforthe standardizedapplicationofthis technique and the construction of effective Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies in tea plantations.
