[Abstract]Raman spectroscopy(RS) provides characteristic spectral information that represents specific molecular “fingerprints”ofsubstances.This techniqueenables theidentificationofsubtlebiochemicalalterations in biological tissues,offeringadvantagessuchasrapidnalysis,eal-timecapabilitynoninvasivenes,andminimalsamplepreparationrequirements.Itdemonstrates considerable promise in thediagnosisand managementoforal squamous cellcarcinoma (OSCC)and oral potentially malignant disorders (OPMDs).This review summarizes recent advancements in RS-based diagnosis of OSCCand OPMDs using tissue and biofluid samples.The applications ofRS in assessing surgical margins duringOSCCresection,investigatingrelevantmolecularmechanisms,andenablingartificial intellgence-assisteddiagnosis are briefly outlined.
