[Abstract]Dental pulp mesenchymal stem cels (or dental pulp stem cels)are mesenchymal stem cells derived from dentalpulp tissues,possessingnotablecapacities forimmunomodulationandtissueregeneration.Macrophages,askeyimmune effectorcells,areprevalentin inflammatorymicroenvironments andexhibitphenotypic plasticitythrough polarizationintodistinctfunctionalsubsets.Hence,understandingthebidirectionalinteractionsbetweendentalpulpmesenchymal stemcelsand macrophages is essential foradvancing the therapeutic application ofdentalpulp mesenchymal stemcells ininflammation-related diseases.This reviewexplores themechanisms bywhichdentalpulp mesenchymal stemcells influence macrophage polarization,migration,anddiferentiation and how macrophages of various phenotypes influence the proliferation and differentiation of dental pulp mesenchymal stem cells.
