[Abstract]Dental pulp mesenchymal stem cels （or dental pulp stem cels）are mesenchymal stem cells derived from dentalpulp tissues，possessingnotablecapacities forimmunomodulationandtissueregeneration.Macrophages，askeyimmune effectorcells，areprevalentin inflammatorymicroenvironments andexhibitphenotypic plasticitythrough polarizationintodistinctfunctionalsubsets.Hence，understandingthebidirectionalinteractionsbetweendentalpulpmesenchymal stemcelsand macrophages is essential foradvancing the therapeutic application ofdentalpulp mesenchymal stemcells ininflammation-related diseases.This reviewexplores themechanisms bywhichdentalpulp mesenchymal stemcells influence macrophage polarization，migration，anddiferentiation and how macrophages of various phenotypes influence the proliferation and differentiation of dental pulp mesenchymal stem cells.
