AbstractThedeclineanddeathofPinus sylestrisvar.mongolica plantationsaretheresultof thecombined ffectsof multiplefactors,among whichsoil nutrient imbalanceisoneof the main factors.Taking theregenerationof thesecond-generation Pnus sylestris var.mongolica plantations inthe Hrqin SandyLandas theresearchbackground,14majorffor estationtree species were selected,andthe improvement efects of diferenttree specieson soil nutrients were evaluated through the analysis ofsoil nutrients in forest lands.Theresults showedas folows:thecomprehensive indices of mixed forests under the two modes were1.13andO.96,respectively,both higher thanthatof pure Pinussyluestris var.mongolicaforests (O.51);the fertilityof mixed forests was significantlyhigherthan thatofpure forests.The mixed forest mode is an ideal modefortheregenerationofPinussylestrisvar.mongolica plantation sites in theHorqin SandyLand.The main tree species are Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica,Pinus densiflora var. zhangwuensis,and Acer truncatum.
