AbstractTo clarify the spatial distribution characteristics and environmental regulation mechanism of major tree species in Huzhu Beishan Forest Area,five typical forest stands including Picea wilsoni ,Picea crassifolia ,Pinus tabuliformis,Betula platyphylla,and Populus dauidiana were selected as the research objects. Through plot surveys and spatial patern analysis,community structure,the spatial distribution rules of tree species,and the environmental interpretation were systematically explored.The results showed as the follwing three aspects.1)All five tree species were the constructive species of single-dominant forest stands,with important values ranging from 86. 17% to 92.48% . The community structure was simple and the competition of dominant species was stable. The Piceawilsonii forests had sufficient reserves of small-iameter individuals and exhibited thebest regeneration potential.2)The spatial distribution of tree species had significant scale dependence. Aggregated distribution was dominant at smallscales,while random or uniform distribution was mostly observed at large scales. Pinus tabuliformis showed irregular random distribution at the full scale of 0-40m ,reflecting broad habitat adaptability. 3)Altitude, soil moisture content,and soil totalnitrogen were thecore factors afecting treespecies distribution.Piceacrassifolia preferred habitats with high altitude and high soil water and nutrient availability;Picea wilsoni was adapted to high potassium and slightly alkaline environments; Pinus tabuliformis was suitable for the northeast slope area with high phosphorus content.
