Survey of game theory applications in Internet of Things security and privacy

Abstract:The securityand privacy protection of the Intermet of Things isa prominent research hotspot and a challenging technical issue. Game theory efectivelyanalyzes the interactions among multiple stakeholders in Intemetof Things systems and provides critical theoreticalsupport fordecision-making indefense technologies.The applications of game theoryin Internet of Things securityand privacyprotection over the past fiveyears arereviewed,systematicallysummarizing its application scenariosandtechnical contributionsinsecurityconfrontations.Basedon diferentadversarialentities,the related research is categorized into two types:dynamic games between attackers and defenders,and interactive games among diferent organizations inspecific IntermetofThingsscenarios.Thecurrent challengesareexplored,such as the rationalityofequilibriumassmptions,computationalcomplexity,andpracticalappicabilityofalgoriths.Finall,future research directions are outlined,focusing on integrating reinforcement learning to develop inteligent game-based security mechanisms.
