Radar sea surface weak target detection technology based on correlation

Abstract:To addressthe problem of detecting weak radar targets in the presence of sea cluter,aradar sea surface weaktargetdetection technologybasedoncorrelationis proposed.Thespatial distributioncharacteristicsofamplitude tails is proposedto estimate therangecellwhere thetarget is located,filtersout theestimatedtarget rangecelldatato define the clutersubspace,andthencalculatesanorthogonal projectionmatrixbasedonthede-tailedclutersubspacetoachieveclutter suppression.Subsequently,according to the distributionchanges ofthelargest eigenvalueofthecovariance matrix inthe detailedrthogonalprojectionspace,thelargesteigenvalueisselectedas theteststatisticfortargetdetection.Theresultsofreal datavalidation from IPIX (intellgent pixel processng X-band)radarand sea-detecting radar data-sharing program demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms cellaveraging constant false alarmrate,de-tailed orthogonal projection, maximumeigenvalueandthecombinationoforthogonalprojectionandmaxeigenvaluedetectionalgorithms.Itisproventhat theproposed algorithm exhibits good robustness.
