Abstract： Inordertometthecottonharvesting needsunderdferent plantingrowspacing，the4MZ-4Aself-propelledcotton harvesterthatcanchangethewhebasewasdevelopedanddesignedinthispaper.Thestructuralcomposition，workingprinciple， andmaintechnicalparameters weritroduced，anditskeytechnologies wereanalyzed.Troughexperiments，ithadeepoven that the machine has excellent operational performance， with the net recovery rate of 95% ，the seed cotton impurity rate of 7.8% the collision cotton rate of 1.6% ，and the increase in the water content of seed cotton is not more than 2.5% All aspects can meet the operational requirements for harvesting.
