Teaching Reform in the Herbivore Feeding Science Courses: Innovative Approaches Integrating Ideological and Political Education, Practical Application, and Interdisciplinary Integration

Abstract:Asa core course in Grassland Science,“HerbivoreFeeding Science”holds significant importance in talentcultivation.However,traditional teaching modelssufferfrom disconnectionsbetween theoryand practice, monotonous teaching methods,and insuffcientinterdisciplinary integration.This paper,taking the curriculumreform atYunnan Agricultural Universityasan example,explores a multifaceted integrated teaching approach:firstly, systematicallincorporatingideologicalandpolitical elementstocultivatestudents‘national pride,ecological civilizationawareness,andprofessionalresponsibility;secondly,strengthening practical rainingandcaseanalysis by establishing athree-tierprogresive modelof“basic experiments-comprehensive training-external practice”toenhance students’abilitytosolvereal-worldproblems;thirdly,promoting interdisciplinaryknowledgeintegrationby combiningfeeding science with ecology,economics,food science,and information technology to broaden students ‘comprehensive literacyand innovativethinking.Ina word,this teaching reform model efectively improves students’ profesional skills,social responsibility,and interdisciplinaryperspective,providing valuable insights forcultivating appliedtalentsinanimal husbandry.
