Comparative Experimental Study of Cold and Hot WHTC Test Cycles of Natural Gas Engines under Highland Environment

Abstract: In this paper,a 13L natural gas engine complying with the National VI standard is taken as the test object,and the WHTC testconditionsareused tosimuate theemissonofpolutantsundertherealcoldand hotenginedriving,andtocompare the emissiondiferencesoftheWHTCtestcyclesatdiferentaltitudes.Theresultsofthestudyshowthat:undertheoperationofhotand coldstate,thediferenceitecyleorkofWHCoutputissallandwithteinceaseofaltitude,tecyceorkdecreasescotinuously,andthehgheritsaltude,themoreserous theatteuationis;inthecomparisonofotandcoldstate,themissonofWHTC testcycleofthecoldoperationisgenerallhigherthanthatofthhotstate,andtheonlythingisthattheratiooftheemissionof NOx is lower than that of the hot state,in which the emission rule of CO, NOx ,and PM is the same with the change rule of the altitude,but there is a differences in emissions.In addition,the TWC inlet temperature has a large effect on the NH3 emission,which is much higher in the cold state operation than in the hot state.
