Analysis and Improvement of Rapid Wear of Front Brake Friction Pads for a Light Truck

Abstract:This paper focusesontheproblemofrapid wearoffront brakefrictionpads forlighttrucks.Byusing theFault Tree Analysis(FTA)method,anumberofpotentialfactorssuchasthefrontaxlehavingasmalerbrakingclearancethantherearaxleand thefrontaxlehavinganoverlyfastbrakingpresurebuild-upspedareinvestigatedonebyone.Throughmeasurementandtestingitis determinedthateexcesivespecificenergydisipationrateoftefrontaxlebrakesistemaincause.Byresearcingthebrakeparametersofcompetingmodels,thedametersofthefrontandrearwheelbrakecylindersareadjustedtooptimizethedistributioofthespecificenergydisipationrate.Aftertheimplementationoftheimprovementmeasures,throughcustomerservicetrackingandverification,themileageoftefrictionlnngsexeds5oilometers,ectielyolvigteproblfapdaroftefrota tion linings and providing an effective solution for improving the performance ofthe light truck braking system.
