Studyon Structural Characteristics and Physical Properties ofFour Types of Malvaceae PhloemFibersin China

Abstract:ThisstudyinvestigatedthefibercellwallstrucureandmechanicalpropertiesoffourwildalvaceaeploemfiersfroCina: SterculialnceolataCav.,SterculiapexaPiere,Abelmoschusmanihotvar.pungens,ndTriumfetacanaBlume.Teresultsshowedthat allfourMalvaceaeplomfibersexhbitedelongatedmorphologwithdistictransversestriatios.Tefibersufacesererough,andmicrofibrilsdispledlogidilougaedfoldstrucre.eensityagedfro1.4to1.63m,rystaliniyangdfro756%o (204号 79.27% ,and the S2 layer microfibril angle ranged from 8∘ to 23∘ .Notably,Abelmoschus manihot var.pungens displayed a significantly higherzero-spantensilstrengthof113Nmcomparedtotheotertphlomfibers(3.4~54.9Nm),withitssrengthshowingaclear positive correlation with the thickness of the fiber cell wall.
