Abstract: In response to the limitations of conventional LiBr/H2O and NH3/H2O Working pairs in absorption refrigeration, dimethyl ether (DME) paired with ionic liquids has emerged as a promising and eco-friendly alternative. This study investigated the solubilityofDME in the low-viscosity ionic liquid[DEME][TFSI]over a temperature range of 293.15-343.15K and a pressure range of 0.045-0.857 MPa using the isovolumetric saturation method.The experimental data were corelated using the NRTL model. Furthermore, the thermodynamic performance of single-effect absorption and absorption-compression refrigeration systems using DME/[DEME][TFSI] as the working pair was analyzed and compared with systems using R1234yf and R1234ze(E). The results show that the NRTL equation agrees wellwith the experimental data, with an AARD of 1.9% . Both systems exhibit peak COP and ECOP with increasing generation temperature, while COP increases monotonically with evaporation temperature and ECOP reaches a maximum. The absorptioncompression system ofers a wider operating temperature range and higher refrigeration capacity. The DME/[DEME][TFSI] system achieves a COP of 0.56 and an ECOP of 0.37,outperforming those of R1234yf and R1234ze(E), demonstrating greater application potential.
