An Analysis of Liu Zongyuan's Tao - Style Poetry as " Ultimately His Own Poetry"

Abstract;Since Tao Yuanming wasacclaimedbyZhong Rongasthe"foremostpoetofreclusion”，generationsofpoetswho expresedadesiretowithdrawfromtheworldoftencomposedTao-styleimitationpoetryHowever，LiuZongyuan，whowrote numerousTao-stylepoemsduringhistwo-yearstaynearYuCreek，wasnotedforproducingworksthatwere"ultimatelyhisown poetry".Whilecomposingteseimitations，Liucontiudtousepoetryasaveiledcritiqueofourtpoliticsandactivelysoughtto extricatehimselffromthepersistenpersecutionbyEmperorXianzongofTangandtheeunuchfactionfolowingthe"TwoKingsand EightSimaAfair"Asaresult，hisTao-stylepoems，thoughseemingly"joyfulandunresenful"，infctrevealadpersnseof biteressandelpessindignationBdoptingthegiseofTotyleimitation，Luconcealedhistrueintentionsreatingstark contrastwithhispoeticstyleinotherperiods.ThisappoachnotonlybrokefromtheconventionalnomsofTao-styleimitationbut alsodiferedfromthereativetendenciesofexiledoesinteTangandSongdyastiesCosequentlytepeculiaritiesofLusao stylepoetryprovideanewperspectiveforexamininghispoeticeuvreandexploringthestylisticevolutionofexileliteraturenthe TangandSongperiods，holdingsignificantvalueforthestudyofTao-stylepoetictraditionandthementalityofexiledliterati.
