Abstract：Newcastle disease（ND）isa highly contagious infectious disease caused byNewcastledisease virus（NDV） infectingpoultryand wildbirdsworldwide，whichusuallymanifestsasrespiratoryandneurologicalsymptoms.Clinicalmanifestationssuchasdiarheaanddepressoncanalsooccur.Inrecentyears，NDVhasbeen widelydetectedandisolatedinmostareas， posingagreatatteouydustrerefore，itiscearytoiuetodyidelocaltasmi nosis and comprehensive prevention and control technology of NDV. This paper provides a comprehensive review of the epidemiological status，detectionmethods，and integrated prevention and control strategies for ND.Itisadvisable to enhance the surveillance of NDVin waterfowl to facilitate early warning regarding transmission and outbreak risks.Given the current large-scale farming practices，it is essential to continueinvestigating the roles of probiotics and traditional Chinese medicineinenhancingimmunefunctionandantiviralresponses，therebyprovidinga scientific foundation formore effective prevention and control measures against ND.
