Abstract: TIG double-sided thre-layer welding process tests were conducted on 5mm thick 2A14 aluminum aly circular restrained welds.The weld composition was analyzed using EDS,and the weld zones were classified based on the compositional results.Fracture locations were observed,and stress simulations were performed on the welds. Residual stresstesting wasalso carred out. Observations and tests revealed that,compared to traditionalbutt joints, high-restraint-stress multi-layerand multi-passweldingundergoes dual thermo-mechanical effects, with fractures occurring atthe weld fusion line.Tensile test results of the welded joints showedreductions inboth tensile strength and elongation; however,the fracture surfaces stillexhibited characteristics of plastic fracture.
