[Abstract]Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease （NAFLD）isadisease characterized bytheaccumulationof livercllfat， andperiodontitisisachronic inflammationof thesupporting tissues surrounding theteeth.Previous studies foundaclose corelation betweenNAFLDand periodontitis，butthe interactionmechanismsarestillunclear.Increasing evidence shows that periodontitis，acompanied byoralinflammationandpathologicalchanges inthe microbiome，induces intestinal dysbiosis，andchanges intheintestinal microbiomemayalsoplayarole inthepathogenesisofNAFLD.This review willfocus onthe epidemiology，posible mechanisms，andtreatmentofNAFLDandperiodontis，expecting toprovidea newNAFLD prevention strategy from a dental science viewpoint.
